The plant nursery

The plant nursery

As a working nursery the staff care for the growing of plants across the Nursery site. Everyone is welcome to visit the nursery field and our greenhouses to browse amongst our wide variety of seedlings, herbaceous perennials, bulbs, shrubs, fruit and vegetables, cared for by expert staff.

The Turners Nursery team are on hand Monday to Sunday to give individual advice and can assist you with planting ideas, colour inspirations, growing tips and to help you choose plants most suited to the conditions of your property.

In Bloom

In Bloom

Turners have provided planting advice, containers and plants to councils in the towns and villages of Chorley, Wilmslow and Alderley Edge and have been very proud to take part. The North West in Bloom is the voluntary regional organisation that administers the Britain in Bloom competition, an initiative which aims to spruce up our villages and bring a summer of colour, great planting, community spirit and improvement to our local areas.

Visiting schools, organisations and homes to help discuss gardening topics, give expert advice and tips, plus bring along some materials to demonstrate how to do all this yourself. You can book an expert demonstration by contacting the nursery, the charge is approximately £50 per hour, dependent on location.

Charity and Community Events

Charity and Community Events

We partake in many charity and community events such as the Wilmslow Scarecrow festival and the MacMillan coffee mornings to help raise money. As a small business in the heart of Wilmslow, Chorley and Alderley Edge we feel the need to promote the surrounding communities and be involved as much as possible. In recent months we have help talks at Wilmslow School about the horticultural industry and raised money for ‘Locks for the Chop’ in conjunction with The Little Princess Trust who makes wigs from hair donations.
